Guy is a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist in Adelaide, and has been a Senior Lecturer in Surgery, University of Adelaide since 1998. He holds specialist recognition in ENT in Australasia and in the UK, and is a Clinical Academic Specialist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He has fellowship experience in Head and Neck Surgery and has been Chairman of the RAH Multidisciplinary Clinic in Head and Neck Cancer since 1998. He has been Director of Training in ENT surgery for 5 years, and remains part of the state training executive. Currently, Guy is Vice Chairman of the RACS Clinical Examination Committee.

Guy was trained in General Surgery and ENT Surgery in the UK and came to Adelaide in 1997 for a one year fellowship: he was asked to stay and has never left! Following his fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, he was awarded his FRACS added to his previous FRCS, giving specialist registration in the UK, Europe and in Australasia. He was appointed at a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 1999, and retains a strong educational role at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Guy is a Leading Cancer Specialist in Head and Neck Oncology in South Australia and practices through his rooms at the Memorial Hospital and at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He has been an Executive Board member of the Australian and New Zealand Head and Neck Society for 7 years, and as Chairman of the RAH Multidisciplinary Clinic for Head and Neck Cancer since 1998. He is co-author of the South Australian Pathway for care of Patients with Head and Neck Cancer.

Aside for care of patients with cancer, Guy has a stong interest in management of Voice and swallowing problems, coordinating care with Speech and Swallowing pathologists in the two Voice and Swallowing clinics he runs. Microlaryngeal surgery and the use of Botox® for speech and swallowing disorders may be offered for specific conditions.

Patients with airway problems, including Sleep Apnoea are managed under Guy's care, as part of a multidisciplinary approach including respiratory physicians and oral surgeons. The Memorial ENT Surgeons practice has the largest number of patients investigated and surgically treated for snoring and Sleep Apnoea in South Australia, and remains at the forefront of research and surgical treatment development in the field.

Guy has been extensively trained in nasal and sinus disease, performing Endoscopic Sinus Surgery since 1989, and along with a number of publications has retained a strong interest in research in the area. He is skilled in the performance of all sinus surgery, and performs advanced skull base surgery.

Treatment of paediatric patients for ENT conditions at the Lyell McEwin Hospital and Port Augusta Hospitals and in Private practice is offered, including radiofrequency coblation tonsillectomy and management of children with airway obstructing conditions.

Michael completed his training in ENT surgery in 1995 and subsequently undertook a fellowship in neuro-otology and skull base surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, UK.

He established the ENT Surgeons practice at Memorial Hospital in 1997.

• Chronic middle ear disease and cholesteatoma surgery
• Bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHA)
• Stapedectomy
• Acoustic neuroma (and other lateral skull base tumours)

• Superior semicircular canal dehiscence
• Benign positional vertigo

Michael has a longstanding interest in training in ENT surgery, and was previously Chairman of the State ENT Training Committee.

He is now an Examiner in ENT Surgery, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Michael is Head of Unit, Women’s and Children’s Hospital ENT Department and a senior visiting ENT consultant at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Trained in ENT surgery in South Australia. Dr Grobler has an interest and expertise in the treatment of general ear, nose and throat problems. She has a particular interest in the management of hearing loss and inner ear conditions. She treats patients of all ages and welcomes paediatric referrals.
